Guide to choose a dildo

Dildos can really add a lot of fun and excitement to your sex life. They can also help you develop an understanding about your sex partner and the type of stimulation that arouses him or her. Although choosing a dildo involves a lot of personal preferences, as the shape, size, texture, style, and color are all up to you; but I think it also comes down to three key elements:
- Choose a dildo material that works for you
- Decide what do you want to do with your dildo
- Choose a shape, size, and color of your dildo

Choose a dildo material
Materials are one of the most important considerations in choosing a dildo. Non-porous materials such as silicone, pyrex, and stainless steel are most women’s favorites because they are the easiest to care for and last much longer than porous materials such as jelly rubber or cyberskin. If you are looking for a dildo to use with a harness, then look for a toy with a wide base that won’t slip through the ring on your harness. Generally, dildos with balls fit best in harnesses.

Silicone dildo is recommended because:
- silicone is clean, strong, and durable
- silicone is non-porous and can be boiled in water
- silicone retains temperature and transmits vibrations very well
- silicone is available in a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes
Decide what do you want to do with your dildo
Choosing a good dildo also depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to use your dildo in a dildo harness, there are three things you need to bear in mind:
- make sure your dildo has a wide flared base
- make sure your dildo is firm and flexible enough for use in a harness
- it is recommended to get a dildo that is at least five inches long

If you want to use your dildo for anal sex, make sure it’s relatively smaller, and start small at the tip getting gradually larger. But as long as your toy has a flared base and is smooth, you should be able to use it anally.
Double ended dildos are designed for simultaneous double penetration. They can be used for vaginal or anal penetration.
Choose a shape, size, and color of your dildo
Sometimes it is hard to gage what is the best dildo size. Anyway, I suggest using a simple test of finger width or vegetable testing before deciding on a width or length. Using your fingers or a vegetable like a carrot may help you decide what width and length to get.

Some dildos look and feel like penises, some look like animals or goddesses, or ice cream cones. Dildos can be shaped for g-spot stimulation, for prostate stimulation, for anal action or completely straight.
If this is your first dildo you may want to start with something generic, or if you know you like a certain kind of stimulation, look for something that is recommended for that use.
