Here is Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza vacationing at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, recently. She is obviously enjoying some wet and wild time at Atlantis where the 2009 Miss Universe will be crowned this summer.
Dayana Mendoza beat 27 other candidates to win Miss Venezuela 2007 on September 13, 2007. She was crowned Miss Universe 2008 at the pageant in the Crown Convention Center, Vietnam on July 13, 2008.
Mendoza became the first winner of the pageant from Venezuela since Miss Universe 1996’s winner Alicia Machado, thus making her the first Venezuelan Miss Universe in the 21st century.
Anyway, Dayana Mendoza was caught in a nude scandal after photos of her modeling naked for a jewelery firm surfaced. Officials from the Miss Universe Organization decided against penalizing her.
The President of the Miss Universe organization jumped to the defense of Mendoza’s crown. Paula M. Shugart said: “Dayana is not in jeopardy of losing the title. We embrace and respect her success as a model and the artistic beauty captured in these photographs.”
“They are artistic in nature and don’t have an ounce of pornographic content to them.”
